"The Elven king of Avlee was in excellent mood. He just received the news that the queen Catherine with her husband Roland Ironfist finally left Antagarich and sailed to Jadame. The king rubbed his hands and smiled. Stupid humans! Instead of going directly back home to Enroth and return with new army capable of restoring Catherine to the Erathian throne (the king shuddered thinking that this thing he was so afraid could happen but now all the fears are past) they went to the Dark Elves of Jadame asking for help.
"It is their deadly mistake," thought the king in the privacy of his mind and grinned. The Dark Elves could be very different in their customs of the Elves of Antagarich but they didn't yet forget about their common routes and promised to keep the royal couple occupied for a very long time in Jadame, and it was exactly what the Avlee king needed at the moment.
The Elves were not particularly satisfied with the borders position in Antagarich. When the old Erathian king Gryphonheart died, they hoped to gain the control of the border region rich with so precious for Elves wood, butthey lost this damned Timber War. It is time to correct the past mistakes while Catherine is finally out and can't interfere with the expansion plans of the Elves as she did before.
The timing was perfect. The human country of Erathia was in ruins after two major wars with practically all neighbors simultaneously. There wasn't any strong leader and the temporary regent General Morgan Kendal might be a talented military commander but not very brilliant politician.
The Elves could become once again the most powerful race in Antagarich, as it was a long time ago before this round eared came.
