Greetings to the old and new players of Heroes of Might and Magic!
The day has finally come when we have Heroes of Might and Magic IV. Our long waiting was rewarded. It is different from Heroes III and some would say that it is million times better than its predecessor is while others would be doubtful. That's okay. We all have different tastes. The main thing is that we have this new game to enjoy.
Nevertheless, it is always interesting to know the views and opinions of people about the same thing, especially if they are different. I am deeply convinced that it is both very educative for those who never played Heroes and informative for those who consider themselves the experienced players. Information will help to understand the game and its rules and receive great fun, not disappointment. And hopefully it will bring new players to Heroes and keep them interested and involved in the world of Heroes of Might and Magic. And it is what we need to keep this wonderful strategic game alive forever and ever. Period.
Here I am publishing my own thoughts about Heroes IV and please remember that it is only my private view which in no way claims to be the most right or proper or final. Should you have some disagreements or simply think differently, you are very welcome to share it. All inputs from the authors will be published only by their permission and with their names and portraits (if available).
So, here I have written with all possible conciseness and clearness my opinion about each of the new six towns of Heroes of Might and Magic IV as well as thoughts in general about skills, magic schools and gameplay as it is. I tried. Did I fail is for you to judge. I hope that at least you'll not fall asleep from boredom while reading the Black Dragon's discourses.
I'll be always glad if you'd decide to submit your own Guide or Manual or general overview, or maybe opinion about the Heroes towns, or its citizens and heroes, magic and skills. The more views would be presented here by the different experienced veterans, the better it will help new Heroes players. Click here for submission. |

By Bluewind, 26th of April 2002 General description of the new features of the game in comparison to Heroes III |
compiled by Bluewind, april 2002 Compiled on the basis of the original 3DO game manual provided in Acrobat Reader format on the original game CD. Easy to operate manual with all essential data necessary for playing the game. More convenient for those who already played Heroes III as it leaves trivial information out but concentrates on new features. Spell lists, skill lists, advanced class abilities, keyboard shortcuts among other important information are included. You can either view and read the manual by clicking on the link above or download it directly as zipped version of the Word file on your computer. |
