Garrote Gorge          back to the top

Here a lot of depends from who do you choose as allies, will it be the Dragons or their worst enemies - the  knights.

If you choose the Dragons:

You can safely kill all the Dragon Slayers on the territory of Garrote Gorge. Don't forget about the Hunter Camp too.
If you are playing with the magic hero
Shadowspire                                                      back to the top

The tough place. You'll have to work hard to pass it. Noone will want to fight you hand-to-hand, they are all shooters here.
Check that your hero is equipped with the artifacts potecting from:

Tips & Warnings
page 2
Cyclops Larder

This place you can visit or not. It depends only from your own choice and the hero you are playing with as for one of the hero classes this place is essential for his promotion quest. But as I advise you to collect and fulfill all quests in the game anyway, therefore perhaps it will be better to go there.
Before you go inside, clear the territory outside of all the Cyclops as maybe you'll have to spend a night between fighting
(either directly near the place or go back to the Tavern). Actually, it depends from when you go to this location. If your hero is already really strong, then perhaps you'll be able to finish the larder in one turn. If not, then you will have to go nighty-nighty and come back next day.
Should you are not good in Perception skill, be careful as there are booby traps in the building. Don't pay any attention to the peasants. If you kill some of them incidentally, don't worry, no big deal.
Ironsand Desert

There you'll meet Gogs, Magogs and Cyclops.
Here are some advises how to fight with them.

Gogs/Magogs

In no circumstances do not come too close to them!
When you kill them, they explode and if you will be near you will get damage.  Despite their small size they are very good shooters and these firebolts are nasty. Therefore, do not be overconfident and engage only one - two of the beasts at one time.
Better to kill them from  a distance using bow or wands.  Keep your distance from them as they are very swift and good runners.
Troll Tomb

The place you have to visit as it is connected  with the important quest you can't avoid. In fact, it isn't that difficult and you can fulfill it when your hero isn't a champion yet.
The thing to remember is the usual one - be careful. Inside it is all full with Gogs and Magogs. Be sure to read very carefully and memorize the instructions, which will be given to you by the Troll.
The Tomb consists from multitude of the passages and all of them are intertwinned.  You can walk hem long time before you find the tomb you need.
Cyclops are serious enemies that require careful approach.  Always remember that you have only one hero, not five.
If you are playing Magic Hero, the best tactics is to shoot at them when you are
airborne
. Use 'Fly'.
If you are playing Might Hero, naturally you ar in more difficult position. be sure to have an artifact protecting from paralyze.
Don't even think about fighting Cyclops at the first stages of the game. Later when your hero will be more experienced, you'll be able to engage and kill  one - two Cyclops  in one turn without too much of the problems. But do not engage more than a couple of them as it will be already taking chances.

Mad Lab

The outskirts are heavily guarded by the Vampires, Ghost Dragons and Skeleton Archers.
Inside the Necromancers are added to all the above monsters.
Necromancers are very tough enemies. My opinion is that they  are even more dangerous to you than the Dragons.
The best way to kill them is to push them in a corner and kill them with pure might, not magic.
There are cellars there. Be careful in them too. There are many turns, a lot of small rooms and all of them can conceal an enemy.
Necromancers' Guild

Should you take the Light Side in alliamce and Shield quest in Ravenshore then you'll have to fight with the Necromancers.
Follow the same tactics - come close to them and kill them in hand-to-hand fight with pure might. It will be more effective against them than using magic.  It is the only way for the might hero, though, if your magic hero is  already high level, than perhaps his/her magic attack maybe efficient against them.
But in any case hand-to-nad fight is good tactics as both heroes either might or magic has weapon in the both hands and therefore can inflict double damage.

Attention: If you took the Shield quest, be absolutely sure to make game save before opening every chest as there is the bug in the game, and the shield may be not inside. If it is the case, reload and repeat. Shield is in the room in the left passage on the second floor.

If you are playing with the magic hero
you will not have much of the problems. The only danger is presented by the tamed Dragons who will be flying over your head. Use wands aginst them. That will give you a chance for faster recovering. The Dragon Slayers themselves will be easy killing for you if you will be shooting at them when airbore while they are running on the ground below without even a chance to inflict any damage to you.
If you are playing with the might hero then as you can guess it wil be tougher. Now the opposite is the case - the main danger is the Dragon Slayers. They have a lot of hit points and can deliver much damage to you. Also they have great recovering speed  after the attack. Do not engage more than one knight. Kill the one, begin with another.

If you choose the Knights in alliance:

Here I can't give you any advice because as you can guess I do not appreciate killing Dragons.
Nagas and Naga Vault

Nagas
Quite serious and powerful enemies. Apart from the direct inflicted damage they will cast magical spell 'Blades' on you too. And on top of all this they poison too, probably their snake ancestry is playing its role. And they are always trying to be in a group. Nevertheless, you must use the tactics of drawing one or two off, never engaging the whole group. It is possible, just be patient, if you want to live through the day, of course, and  not
in a hurry to die.
Naga Vault

The place I advise you to visit as there is an object there necessary for Drum of Victory quest you have already taken from the knights.
Before entering switch on the combat mode as you'll be attacked immediately at the entrance by approximately 7 Nagas.
You' ll have to fight in a small room and the Nagas will have some assistance from other monsters when you have only your lonely hero.  It will be a hard fight.

Use the narrowness of the rooms for your advantage as the Nagas can't surround you there.
When you'll be exploring inside keep in mind that some buttons and chests are triggered. If you don't want to be killed by a booby trap always check how much hit points do you have before opening or pushing anything. Have the full life strength and all possible protections when you'll approach them.
And of course make a game save. If you were killed by an explosion despite  your best precautions, reload and try again. It is most probable that next time you will survive through this particular place as each game reloading change the locations of the traps.
